2010 Letters of Support for High-Impact State Prevention

We spent a lot of 2010 and 2011 doing outreach and education to try and bring advancements in transmisison reduction techniques including the use of chemoprophylaxis and the right to rapid at-home assays to the public ear.  In doing so we gained a lot of new friends and continued to win the support of many old friends in the effort towards better, more fair, and more sustainable public health.  in the read more section of this full article you will see at the bottom a Download attachment: line after the article where you can download the .pdf's of all of the supporters who aligned with us to help promote highly active prevention, now being called High-Impact Prevention by the CDC.  Please review the downloadable letters if you are interested or want to double check on the credibility of our supporters.  We are very grateful to all of them for all of the honest and difficult work that they do every day.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has long supported the initiatives of Search For A Cure as verifiably consistent with and often ahead of national and state goals for transmission reduction and harm reduction to patients and populations living with and affected by HIV.

fhc_logoOur own director and founder David Scondras once upon a time was one of the core community leaders who founded and created the original Fenway Community Health Center on Huntington Avenue in the Boston Center for Older American's Office, and was recently interviewed for a book on the history of the Health Center.

Obviously the Health Center has grown far beyond those days and it is great that now top medical experts are running their research and care divisions and still providing support for the work and forsight that Mr. Sondras has become known for as community voice and activist.

Check the download attachments below to see a letter of support for our work from Dr. Kenneth Mayer, Medical Research Director

Salk_LogoJonas Salk was an inspiration to a generation of young scientists and physicians, the institution bearing his name and the work of his sons all on their own still inspire confidence in the Salk brand.

We are honored to share the same ideals and be going in the same direction as such a family and equally honored to have received a letter of support in our work from the Salk Legacy Foundation.

DHHS_logoThe recent past Director of the Division of AIDS, NIAID/NIH and a US General a Letter of Support for our work from Dr. Edmund Tramont associate director for special project DCR/NIAID/NIH is not short of a big deal.

We are incredibly grateful and again honored to be priviledged to have communication with Dr. Tramont in pursuit of national health.  Please see his attached letter of support below.

brandeis_LogoIn and through our work we try to reach out to all communities and to make friends by helping all people.  We were very pleased this past year to be honored with a vote of confidence from the Catholic Chaplain Rev. Walter Cuenin at the interfaith chaplaincy at Brandeis University.

ma_dphsealOf course, our efforts would not have as much weight had we not had the good fortune to pair and work with a noble and rising star in the commonwealth, the state representative from Medford and Somerville, Congressman Carl Sciortino Jr.

Carl supported our efforts from the beginning, and in that partnership we were able to form the now real state bill for a commission to modernize HIV prevention before the house health committee of which Carl is presently as of 2011 a member of.  His original letter supporting our work is availabe for download below.  While state bill H2908 is still hopefully the culmination of these two years of outreach and education.
